Why Braces are Making a Major Comeback
In a world of removable trays, there is something powerful about the clinical reliability of metal braces. Dr. Neal has observed more patients in Kirkland choosing modern mental brackets for their unmatched ability to handle complex movements.
The Always-On Advantage
The biggest hurdle with clear aligners is compliance—if you aren’t wearing them 22 hours a day, they simply aren’t working. Metal braces eliminate this worry: they are working for you while you sleep, eat, go to school, work, and play.
Phase I
Phase 1 starts any time between age 7-10 and will take 9-12 months. There is then a “rest” period where Dr. Neal will continue to evaluate your child and their development. Retainers will usually be worn during this period of time.
Phase II
The 2nd phase will usually start when all baby teeth are lost and will consist of either Invisalign or traditional braces. For most kids this is typically around 12-14 years of age.
Unmatched Precision for Complex Cases
Dr. Neal uses braces for 360-degree control over root movement and jaw alignment, making metal braces the heavy-lifter option for severe crowding and deep bites.
Predictable Timelines: Without the risk of lost trays, your treatment timeline stays exactly on track.
